The three biggest ones people miss
- Social tariffs. Cheaper broadband and mobile for people on Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits. Fewer than 9% of eligible households used one in June 2025 (Ofcom).
- Pension Credit. Even a small award unlocks the Warm Home Discount, Cold Weather Payment, help with council tax and a free TV licence at 75 (GOV.UK).
- The Priority Services Register. Free extra help from your energy and water companies if you're of State Pension age, disabled or have a long-term condition (Ofgem).
