Blue Light Card, NHS and armed forces discounts on bills
The short answer
NHS, emergency services, social care and armed forces staff can get money off mobile, broadband and TV through discount schemes and some providers' own offers. We found no national discount on energy or water.

For current and retired NHS, ambulance, fire and police staff, the armed forces and veterans, social care workers and others. It costs £4.99 for 2 years (Blue Light Card). Its public offers page lists mobile, broadband and TV deals, such as EE 20% off SIM and airtime and O2 25% off Refresh airtime, and no energy offers (Blue Light Card).
NHS and healthcare workers
Health Service Discounts: free for NHS, GP, dental, hospice and pharmacy staff, healthcare students and volunteers (Health Service Discounts).
EE: NHS staff get 20% off monthly airtime on Flex Pay or SIM-only plans, and can share it with up to 4 friends or family (EE).
Armed forces and veterans
Defence Discount Service: the official MOD discount service, for serving and reserve forces, veterans, families and MOD civil servants. Online discounts are free; the Defence Privilege Card is £4.99 for 5 years (MOD).
Vodafone: £72 off broadband for veterans, armed forces members and MOD employees (Vodafone).
Ministry of Defence housing used as armed forces accommodation is exempt from council tax (legislation.gov.uk).
